Birmingham Muslim Community Welcomes Naim Ateek

(Birmingham, AL 7/12/01) Rev. Naim Ateek, Founder-President of Jerusalem based Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center, at breakfast meeting sponsored by the local Muslim community. Rev. Ateek also made two presentations at the Episcopal Cathedral Church of the Advent. The theme of his two day stay in Birmingham was, "A Palestinian peacemaker's perspective on the uprising in the West Bank, Gaza, and in Jerusalem." He also was interviewed by the editorial boards of the city's two daily newspapers.
