A letter to the World Heads of States

I am the student, W. I. , from Palestine . I live in a village of three thousand people who suffer a lot because of occupation. Occupation has denied us the simplest of rights such as freedom, independence and the establishment of our state on our land. We have given too much for the Israelis including recognition but in response we get curfews, impoverishment, killing and home destruction. I am 13-year old and I do not know the holy places in Jerusalem such as the Holy Sepulchre and the Aqsa Mosque because we are not allowed to reach Jerusalem . What do you want from us and we have not even  reached the city of Nablus which is only 4 kms away from our village. We carry the branch of olive and they carry the guns. What do we do? What do they want from us? Do they want us to leave? This is our country, our land and we have to live in peace like the rest of kids the world over. I want to sleep at night with nice pictures in my memory not images of killing and destruction. I want to sleep till the morning without getting up on the sight of Israeli tanks. I want to sleep at night knowing that we are at peace. Like Jesus has said: “Love ye one another.” I tell you, you heads of states, that the Palestinian people loves peace, wants peace and nothing but peace. Where are you? Do you hear us? Please read my message to you and see the tragedy in which our Palestinian people is found. We want peace and not surrender. “Glory to God in the Highest and Peace on Earth.”

A letter to whomever would like to read it

I am a student in sixth grade. I live in the village of Zababdeh in Palestine (…) My father, like other fathers, works hard to secure our living. But because of the difficult conditions caused by Israeli occupation with the incursions, roadblocks between villages and towns I am always worried about the safety of my father as he tries to earn our living. I cannot understand why the Israelis target ambulances: where is justice? Where is public opinion? We have to be patient and have faith in the mercy of God.

A letter to my brother, the prisoner

I am writing to you, my brother, who is imprisoned by the Israelis to tell you of our steadfastness and our hope for freedom. You know that the Israeli soldiers are very harsh as they enter homes, arrest people, humiliate them and do other things that hurt everyone of us. But I take inspiration from that ten-year old boy who confronts a tank. (…) I do hope that you will recognize me, my brother. I am your brother from Zababdeh. I am now in the sixth grade and twelve years old and I am looking forward to see you again when you are free and all of us are free, God’s willing.
